DNC contender, Keith Ellison: Trump's actions 'raise the question of impeachment'

Atlanta (CNN)A leading contender to chair the Democratic National Committee said President Donald Trump has already taken actions that "legitimately raise the question of impeachment."
Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, a progressive backed by Bernie Sanders and many of his supporters, said Trump has already violated the Constitution and called for an investigation to "make sure that nobody can monetize the presidency and make profit off it for our own gain."
His comments came as the eight candidates vying to chair the Democratic National Committee participated in a debate at the CNN Center in Atlanta just three days before the party gathers in this city to select its new leadership. Other contenders also called for hard lines against Trump.
"We have seen from the get-go that this person wants to turn the clock back, and the Democratic Party needs to take the fight to Donald Trump," former Labor Secretary Tom Perez said. "When we lead with our values, when we lead with our conviction, that's how we succeeds."
Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, called Trump a "computer virus in the American political system."

"Yes, we've got to take the fight to him. But we can't let him dominate our imagination, because it's our values and our candidates that matter," he said.
Sam Ronan, an Air Force veteran and Democratic activist, called Trump a "draft-dodger."

Certainly nobody should "monetize the presidency," Keith. Where were you for Clinton and Obama ?

Did you notice that your boy Obama headed straight to vacation first with the very rich in Palm Springs, then with a foreign billionaire in the Caribbean ?

Maybe CNN and NYT won't mention it, but I bet that the Alt-Media does mention it.

If the Rats vote for this moron on Saturday it will collapse their already weak party. No rational person will be giving the party money or votes anymore because this guy is a loud mouth radical.

Pretty much. They don't realize:


1) Impeachment is just impeachment. You need 66 Senators to convict. That would mean his own party would have to turn on him.

Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, a top candidate to take over as chair of the Democratic National Committee, called Wednesday for an impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump.

“I think that Donald Trump has already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment,” Ellison said during a debate on CNN on Wednesday with his fellow DNC chair hopefuls.

The left-wing Ellison, who is one of the top contenders for DNC chair, argued that Trump was in violation of the emoluments clause, a constitutional clause which prohibits presidents from receiving payment from foreign governments. Some Trump opponents have claimed that the Republican is in violation of the federal law because Trump hotels have received payment from foreign dignitaries.

Trump could drop a deuce in the Oval Office toilet and Ellison would be calling for impeachment. They're going to call for impeachment and all sorts of other outrageous antics regardless of what GOP figure is in the White House. It's the new Dem/lib script.

We'll be finding an answer to the following question: can the Democrats again become a national party with a Muslim as its leader?

My answer to that is "no".

This clarion call to impeach Trump may resonate among the BLM and hard left, i.e. 15-20% of the Democrat base. All they're doing is riling up the 35% who voted for Trump, and will most certainly generate sympathy for Trump among perhaps 20% of independents.

The guy that worries me is the 30-something mayor whose name I can neither spell or pronounce. He will probably lose, because he's focused on minimizing the influence of DC on the party, while Ellison is entrenched.

Ellison would be a Great choice on so many levels.

It would end almost all Jewish support for the DNC.
It would end a significant amount of White support, including the unions.
It would end most Independent support.
It would damage Black Christian support.
It would dampen Black moderate support, who are wary of Farrakhan and his goons.

In short, Ellison would be the best possible choice. He would be the best thing that could happen for us.
