Conway's ethics foul would get you fired in an Obama White House
By Victoria Nourse, opinion contributor - 02/09/17 06:30 PM EST

When Kellyanne Conway decided to “advertise” Ivanka Trump’s brand she made the kind of ethics mistake that would get you fired in the Obama/Biden White House.  Or, at least, I would have thought it was worth firing an employee if they had done that on my watch.

During 2014-15, I took leave from my position as a professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center to serve as chief Counsel to Vice President Biden, and among many, many other things I did, I supervised ethics compliance for employees in the vice president’s office.

Well, it wasn't as if no one attempted to try and warn everyone that Trump would likely use the office of the Executive to promote his business empire for the furtherance of an eternal kingdom for his posterity.

Really? How about Hillary Clinton's ethics foul? Which is more egregious?

Is Conway's off the cuff remark more serious than these:

1) Hillary Clinton selling access to the State Department;

2) using State Department to line up speaking fees for her husband Bill at about $500,000 per gig;

3) Attorney General Lynch meeting with Bill Clinton the day before Hillary was questioned by the FBI and Director Comey's decision to not recommend prosecution;

4) using a private email server in violation of government regulations that left the email system subject to hacking by foreign hostile actors; and

5) Hillary's friend, Terry McAuliffe, giving over $700,000 to the political campaign of the FBI chief investigating Hillary. These are only the major examples.

The marriage of corporate and business interests with government promotion/"cronyism"and punitive establishments against their competition is the very definition of what Benito established.

Albeit in Trump's case, we may have a bit more monarchy tossed in there.

'Make America Great Again' could be perverted into the same thing.

It's all a matter of perspective.

This is a joke.....right?   Who are they kidding?  In the Obama administration, you got away with any damned thing you wanted to.... up to and including murder, if you count how many deaths are related to Obama's terrorist buddies.  At the very least the admin was ripe with tax cheats and voter/election fraud criminals.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Ethics?   Ethics?

It's like Democrats complaining that a program cost too much.  They forfeited the right to complain a long time ago.
