What a great day. Warthogs filled the sky!

Tindall and Eglin AFB were playing war today.  Man what a sight.  For 2 hours we got to watch close to a dozen A-10 Thunderbolts fly over our subdivision.  Even at 1000 ft I puckered up a little.  Those twin engine turbofans sure have a distinct sound!

FLIGHT AND BOAT OPERATIONS TO TAKE PLACE IN CHOCTAWHATCHEE BAY AND GULF OF MEXICO

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - Residents may experience noise when the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group conducts boat operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the Choctawhatchee Bay, Feb. 2 and Feb. 6-9.

Each morning, fighter aircraft will release munitions between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. approximately 20 nautical miles south of Destin in the Gulf of Mexico. The test will be conducted within a cleared range safety area which includes boat surveillance. Notices to mariners will be issued prior to the missions and flyers will be handed out at the local marina.

@Wingnut we watched the warthogs take off and land last week when we were in Tucson.  Amazing plane.  We drove through the "boneyard" and saw all of the planes in storage.

Are you sure they weren't scouting out your house?  :smokin:

I put up a white flag.   :patriot:

They flew so low you could see the ordinance below the wings!  4 or 5 per wing

You are dead before you ever hear it.

Big whumps of 30 MM DU rounds digging 5 feet into the earth, and then 5 seconds later the whooooooooooooooom of the guns firing from the Hog and then finally, the turbofan engines.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Great airplane, worked on them a bit at Shaw AFB back in the early 90s.

But my heart and soul belongs to the F117.
Throwing our allegiances to political parties in the long run gave away our liberty.
