Obama’s wildlife director moves to ban lead ammo use

The day before the completion of his appointment last week, the head of the federal agency dedicated to wildlife conservation issued an order ending the use of lead ammo on service lands within five years.

Director Dan Ashe, a second-generation career employee of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, issued the directive Thursday on the last full day of the Obama Administration. It would require the use of “nontoxic ammunition and fishing tackle to the fullest extent practicable” on lands and waters controlled by the agency by January 2022.

“Exposure to lead ammunition and fishing tackle has resulted in harmful effects to fish and wildlife species,” contends the directive, noting that the mandate to end the use of lead shot in duck and goose hunting in 1991 has resulted in thriving waterfowl populations.

The Ashe order directs regional USFWS managers to work with local, state and tribal agencies towards implementing a wider ban over the next several years.

Well, it is small wonder the mobs are rioting like the French Revolution. The Liberals have entrenched their courtiers and established their fiefdoms, and the peasants refuse to accept that.

What is humorous is that they are protesting a government that essentially has the same people in the same positions as it did under Obama. Only a few positions have been filled with new people. That is the bureaucracy Trump will need to change if any of this is to be meaningful in the long run, and much of that change should simply be a reduction in numbers and elimination of positions which have been abused. I'd like to see Trump pardon the Bundys over the original Bundy Ranch incident, too.

The last two weeks before the change in management have been a regulation feeding frenzy. The libs know that was likely the last chance they have to stuff some of this through, so they have been stuffing as much in as they can hoping some of it will be missed and left in effect. Like the Friday afternoon document dump, the strategy is to overwhelm the ability to monitor such. (Cloward/Piven).
