Turnbull humiliated for thinking he could outsmart Donald Trump, Andrew Bolt writes
Andrew Bolt, Herald Sun
February 2, 2017 12:50pm

Donald Trump ‘upset and angry’ over refugee deal
You have to admire Donald Trump’s powers of perception on our dud PM
Malcolm, Trump isn’t a normal politician
Malcolm Turnbull misled the public on refugee deal
What Trump’s fiery phone call with Turnbull reveals about his presidency

MALCOLM Turnbull thought he could outsmart Donald Trump and trap him into taking 1250 of our boat people.

Huge mistake, and now he’s been humiliated.

There is no surprise that an angry Trump attacked Turnbull in their call at the weekend and hung up halfway through, after just 25 minutes.

What did Turnbull expect?

This is not going to be a popular opinion, but Australia is an ally and as close to a friend as one nation is to another.  We agreed - granted under 0's regime - to take said refugees.  Honor that agreement, vet them and refuse to take any that don't vet properly.  Don't piss off our friends unnecessarily.

I agree, don't PO them without cause. However, our friends and everyone else needs to understand that our country, as I'm sure they feel about their country, comes first. Also, they should take it as a lesson going ahead that there is a cost to making deals with Democrats. That cost is that Democrats often write checks that the country is under no obligation to cash for them with it's safety.

The next time there is a Dem in power in America, they will understand as we do that they cannot be trusted. Obama left these people for Trump. He could have imported them long ago.

Well if these leaks are to be believed, Donny did say he would reluctantly take them.....after a very high level vetting. Turnbull is the one who wanted us to just take them like normal refugees, so you got your wish.

I heard Turnbull say that people who know him know he always puts Australia first.  It's funny, but I haven't heard of a single attack he absorbed for that statement...

No, it would not be my wish to take them.  But, there was a deal made by a duly-elected blah, blah, blah so we should honor it to the Australians.  If it were some other country, say Mexico or North Korea, to heck with 'em.

Turnbull is pretty well hated there just like the Mexican President is in Mexico. Last check, ol' Malcolm was under 30% approval.

We are doing the deal with them. Trump just wants to super vet them now.

A rational suggestion.

Instead, we apparently got a pissing contest and two pairs of wet shoes.

An executive assistant to the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s chief of staff Drew Clarke, has been suspended today over “inappropriate” posts on her Facebook page, 2GB radio reports.

The woman posted a photo and link to a website named ‘Tuck Frump’ in November, before the President was elected.

She deleted the post today after the radio station alerted the Prime Minister’s office to the link.

The website features merchandise with ‘Tuck Frump’ and a video showing a doll of the President being stabbed with pins, covered in molten lead and crushed.  ...
