Rep. Tony Tinderholt.

Texas lawmaker introduces legislation to protect unborn children, He had to be placed under state protection after violent death threats.

There are countless stories of people putting their lives at risk to save the lives of others, but in the United States it's not common to hear that a legislator has to be placed on state protection because he was being threatened for being Pro-Life.  What have we come to?

The Texas Department of Public Safety is providing security assistance to Rep. Tony Tinderholt, R-Arlington, who has reportedly received multiple death threats, as well as his wife. His political consultant, Luke Macias, told the Dallas News that the Arlington Police Department and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office has been involved due to the number of threats and an investigation is underway.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
