Why pushing? It does seem very odd that conversations that all parties involved say are private seem to be all of a sudden coming out of the AP. This article from the Washington Compost claims an UNNAMED WH senior staff member as the source. We know who the 4 of them are. Anyone believe they are doing this or could it be a touch of fake news from the usual suspects?

They do at certain levels, but I never recall hearing these conversations leaked before. WaPo is already retracting big portions of their Australia story. Is this all a manufactured event?

According to the article there was only 3 others in the room with Trump. How hard can it be to figure out who is the leaker?

In one of the articles I read it appears the writer took his quotes from a transcript of the conversation.

I wonder if there is some sort of leaking fake news on purpose strategy, both to discredit what they see as opposition media, but also to foster the 'us versus them' storyline?

With so many Obama holdovers yet to be pink slipped? I'd be AMAZED if his calls were secure. Law and natsec issues are not liberal concerns.

I am implying that the leaks are coming from the other end of the line, the end we cannot control.

Trump is a populist, so generally speaking most of the rest of the world hates him. They'd be predisposed to make him look stupid with our media only too willing to help.

Except the leaks have come from three unique phone conversations to different leaders. And while both parties have said they are fake, what they did confirm shows there was a grain of truth to the leaks. They did say, for example, Trump talked about 'bad hombres' and offered help, just not the sending troops part. You have a similar situation with the AU leak. Someone is privy to part of the conversation or the gist of it, and the common factor is the WH.

Either Trump is the leaker or he is allowing someone else to do it. With such a short suspect list and so many leaks the suspect should have been exposed pretty easily. If Trump didn't like it we surely would know by now as that person would be out of a job.
