Malaysian mogul Vincent Tan pledges 5,000 homes for Filipino poor

MALAYSIAN billionaire Vincent Tan has promised to build 5,000 houses for the poor in the Philippines, local media reported.

According to Philippine Daily Inquirer, Tan will carry out the project with the help of the Gawad Kalinga (GK) Community Development Foundation, a Philippine-based poverty alleviation and nation-building movement.

During the 4th Global Social Business Summit held recently, Tan said: “The rich became rich because a lot of poor people supported their businesses.”

Even though, Malaysia is a largely Muslim nation, that name "Vincent" doesn't seem to be. Just saying and Philippines is suppose to be a largely Catholic nation.  A bit of a do-good feel-good story.
