President Trump on Sunday accused John McCain and Lindsey Graham - two Republican senators he often clashes with — of "always looking to start World War III."

"The joint statement of former presidential candidates John McCain & Lindsey Graham is wrong - they are sadly weak on immigration," Trump tweeted. "The two senators should focus their energies on ISIS, illegal immigration and border security instead of always looking to start World War III."

I think it has more to do with Russia and sanctions than anything. Gorbachev popped up out of whatever hole he's been hiding in and made a comment about Putin and Trump preventing WWIII so naturally so Trump couldn't resist.

McCain and Graham are easy targets but are the least of his concerns when it comes to Russia. He'll face overwhelming opposition from both sides of the aisle if he tries to drop the sanctions against Russia.

These Trumpers are just trying to throw chaff into the air to distract from the fact that they can't say who McCain and Graham are trying to start WWIII with because Donald Trump hasn't told them yet.

They're just repeating what their master says.

McCain and Graham do have a long history of supporting us getting into wars that we should stay out of but that has nothing to do with Trump's idiotic (and cowardly) statement about them trying to start WWIII. Trump needs to cowboy up and tell us exactly how and where they're trying to start WWIII or he needs to STFU and let the adults handle things.

When Obama leaned over to Putin and whispered “Wait until after the election, I’ll have more flexibility then.” Every member of TBR was outraged. We knew the Putin could never be trusted and agreed that Obama’s whisper was crass and even treasonous.  Now that Trump is doing the same thing but with boldness – no more secrets, no more whispering, we call anyone warning the President about throwing caution to the wind as wanting to start WWIII.    Hypocrisy lives on both sides of the political wall, don't it.

A citizen, such as I, can say WWIII in print and it means nothing to other countries - for the president to say it, puts it on the public table for the world to see/read, and should never be said unless there is a valid reason.  His tweets or some other disastrous action/statement will start a war and I believe that.

Agreed.  This sort of thing is ... I hate to say "unhinged," but it's certainly incredibly reckless.  Apparently the boy wants to rule by innuendo, insult, and decree.

I've said all along that Trump is vulnerable to impeachment.  This is a great example of the sort of behavior that will cause it to happen.

Today's history lesson for those who find themselves in need.

Czarist Russia was an ally and trading partner of the USA for a VERY long time.  The Czars are long gone but I personally see no reason why that relationship could not be restored.  Of course, we must be careful but it can be done.
