One notable area of difference from Scalia is their approach to administrative law. Gorsuch has suggested the Supreme Court should reconsider its Chevron doctrine, which affords federal agencies deference in interpreting statutes they are charged with administering.
This is actually pretty huge. Chevron doctrine essentially transfers power from Congress to the Executive Branch, enabling the Executive to "make law" simply by interpreting/reinterpreting the meaning of a statute that gives some administrative or rulemaking authority to the bureaucracy. Ending Chevron deference would be a significant blow to the power of the administrative state.
That's a good thing for conservatives, in general.
