Katie Rich, a writer for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” has been suspended for a joke she made about Donald Trump’s son Barron Trump.
According to The Washington Post, Rich, who has been writing for “SNL” since 2013, has been suspended from the show indefinitely for her tweet, in which she wrote that Barron, who is 10, “will be this country’s first homeschool shooter.”
The tweet drew swift backlash, including a petition calling for Rich to be fired from the show. After a few hours, Rich deleted the tweet and temporarily deleted her Twitter account. She issued an apology Monday afternoon.
