Dem boycotts of inauguration grow
By Cristina Marcos - 01/14/17 09:51 AM EST

In a sharp break with tradition, a growing number of Democrats are announcing they will boycott President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

A half-dozen House Democrats so far have issued public statements saying they won't attend the Jan. 20 ceremony following an extraordinarily divisive election. Still others say they're torn about going.

It’s a departure from lawmakers of both parties putting aside their personal feelings to watch the new president take the oath of office. While the majority of Democrats still plan to go, the fact that even a handful are making a point of boycotting shows the depth of antipathy toward Trump.

Cool! You can't bar the trash to keep them away without public howls of outrage. This way they do it to themselves.

Too bad they won't take their trashy, worthless supporters with them.  Without them the day could actually be pleasant and smell free.

How 'bout of all these politicians and all the leftist protesters who are so incensed over Trump do something worthwhile instead this Friday? Oh, I don't know, maybe they could volunteer to work at the local soup kitchen, read books to old folks in nursing homes, visit AIDS patients - or just do something nice for the people they're so sure Trump and the Republican Congress will abuse (but about whom these snowflakes really don't give a rat's rear end).

Just a thought.  :pondering:

I know. Not going to do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

Democrats plot their D.C. departures for Trump inauguration

Many Democrats are in no mood to see the swearing in of a man they consider a unique threat to the nation.

By Daniel Lippman

01/14/17 08:02 AM EST

Many prominent Democrats and Republicans who opposed Donald Trump are fleeing Washington for the inauguration, heading far from the capital to plot anti-Trump strategy or simply avoid the pain of witnessing inauguration celebrations.

Inauguration departures by operatives on the losing side of an election are common every four years, but they’re taking on a different tone this time after an unusually ugly election season. Many Democrats are in no mood to see the swearing in of a man they consider a unique threat to the nation.

Not to the nation but to them.

The antics of the MSM, showbiz celebs and Democrats may make them all irrelevant. Well, okay, I'll take two out of three.

Won't that eliminate a lot of people who voted for Trump :tongue2:
