Trump to John Lewis: Fix your ‘horrible’ Atlanta district

President-elect Donald Trump labeled a congressional district that sweeps through the heart of Atlanta as a “crime infested” area that is in “horrible shape” in an early-morning tweet Saturday aimed at one of his most outspoken Democratic critics.

The Republican was unloading at Georgia Rep. John Lewis, who has represented the Atlanta district since his 1986 election, after the civil rights icon made national headlines when he told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he will skip Trump’s inauguration next week.

“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results,” Trump said in a pair of Twitter messages ahead of the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day celecbrations. “All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”

President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday morning returned fire on a top Democrat who said he was not a “legitimate president.”
 
A day after Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said Trump was not legitimate, the president-elect told him to worry about his own district instead.
 
“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk - no action or results. Sad!” Trump wrote in a series of tweets.

I'm not a big fan of Trump, as I'm sure y'all know, but Trump is capable of carrying his own water, unlike the Bushes. It's simply going to solidify his support with those who voted for him, and might bring a few converts over.

This was a good retort as it went right to Lewis' failings.

Lewis doesn't actually care about the people in his district, other than that they continue to vote him in to his cushy job every two years.  As long as they continue to vote him in they deserve what they get.

Lawmakers took to social media on Saturday to defend Rep. John Lewis's (D-Ga.) legacy after President-elect Donald Trump launched an early-morning Twitter attack on the civil rights leader.

 

Pushing back against Trump’s criticism that Lewis is “all talk” and “no action or results,” Democrats and one Republican recalled Lewis’s role in the civil rights movement and painted him as a tooth-and-nail defender of justice.

 

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) criticized Trump’s efforts “to silence” Lewis, while House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) defended Lewis and the House Democrats' official Twitter account pledged to stand with Lewis.

According to the Left-Wing McClatchy Newspaper “reporter” William Douglas in an article on Saturday; Tea Partiers repeatedly screamed the N-word at John Lewis (D-GA) as he crossed over to the Capitol on his way to vote for Obamacare.

    WASHINGTON — Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol , angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted “bleep” Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis , a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

Unfortunately for William Douglas, the incident was caught on video, conclusively proving otherwise.

Let’s be blunt; John Lewis is a liar. He claimed the N-word was “shouted” over and over at him and yet no camera among the many there has caught anything of the sort. In other words, there is no doubt about it; he was and is lying straight through his teeth. As so is McClatchy’s William Douglas who filed the story, no doubt knowing full-well that it was false.

This is nothing but Standard Democrat Operating Procedure; shrieking accusations of racism, knowing they would be uncritically echoed by masquerading partisan operatives in the media like William Douglas, is as integral to Democrat politics as funneling taxpayer money to public employee unions for them to kickback into their campaign war chests. There has not been a single competitive election, legislative battle or even debate on the issues in the past four decades that Democrats have parachuted charges of racism and “hate.”

It is what Democrats use as shorthand for “I disagree”; it’s what they call their kids when they don’t do their homework. How does anyone think it became racist for one to be pro-life, or pro-school vouchers when the vast majority of black parents support school choice?  .  .  .
