Thomas Figures, an assistant U.S. attorney whose accusations of racial bias torpedoed Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination to the federal bench in 1986, had a history of erratic and disturbed behavior, colleagues and estranged family say.

New sworn statements obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation given by former colleagues allege Figures, who died in 2015, was a paranoid figure who, among other things, believed “CBS Evening News” anchor Dan Rather was communicating with him through his television. An office loner with a flair for confrontation, Figures was later indicted by federal authorities for attempting to bribe a witness.

30 years later, his testimony continues to shape press coverage of Sessions’ nomination to serve as attorney general in the Trump administration.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) testified against attorney general nominee Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) in an unprecedented move Wednesday, saying he has to stand up for what his conscience tells him is best for the country.

"I know that some of my colleagues are unhappy that I’m breaking with Senate tradition to testify against the nomination of one of my colleagues," Booker said. "But I believe, like perhaps all of my colleagues, that in the choice between standing with Senate norms or standing up for what my conscience tells me is best for our country, I will always choose conscience and country."

This didn't turn out to be the profile boosting event Booker thought it would be. As a matter of fact he looked like a know nothing hack pining for MSM glory. This event will be forgotten by end of business today.

His tenure as Mayor of Newark was rife with incompetence and ignorance.   Empty suit empty head.
He was supported by Oprah, and a cabal of Hollywood far leftists.
Most knew that he didn't even live in NJ during his tenure.

Eh, just put another good-looking black guy up there, and voters will go nuts!  Right?

For all the things I didn't like about him, Obama is/was a very talented guy.  He's a good speaker, not just in terms of his voice but in his entire presentation.  And he can present thoughts/ideas in a way that is very appealing to lefties.

Booker is just a hack, though.

I haven't seen one headline about Booker's testimony so it must have been a miserable fail and backfired on the commiecrats.
