Talk is cheap.
Know a man by his deeds.
Trump may govern as a conservative. He may pay fealty to the conservatives who choked down the bile and voted for him.
But by his life's history he is NOT a conservative.
Conservatism is not something you put on this morning, like a clean shirt. It's a political philosophy; it's a set of beliefs as regards politics, as regard the role of government in the lives of free men.
We shall see...we shall see. I'll applaud him when he's right; but I will never, EVER trust him.
The only President in our lifetimes that is classified as a true conservative, pissed me off bigly when he advanced his amnesty for illegal immigrants.
And that marked my full political adulthood, to learn that NONE of them are perfect.
So even if Trump falls short of Reagan, he will still be miles better than any democrat, and most Republicans.
Most of Trump's policies thus far, are things "true conservatives" have asked for, for years and years.
Now it comes in an unexpected package, and they freak out.
