'It is over': Congress certifies Donald Trump's victory

Jan 6, 3:29 PM EST

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Congress certified Donald Trump's presidential victory Friday over the objections of a handful of House Democrats, with Vice President Joe Biden pronouncing, "It is over."

Trump finished with 304 electoral votes and Democrat Hillary Clinton got 227. There were seven protest votes for other candidates. It takes 270 Electoral College votes to win the presidency.

As expected, Mike Pence was elected vice president.

Trump and Pence are to be sworn in on Jan. 20.

It's sad, in a laughable sort of way, that the Democrats couldn't even get on the same page regarding an organized objection.

There were seven protest votes for other candidates.

This is not insignificant and if it were close like Bush and Gore, it would have been a shitstorm of epic proportions because those protest votes could have thrown the election.

What a pointless attack on the good people of this forum who don't agree with you about Trump.

Are you ever, EVER going to stop this childishness?

I am hoping that the defeat of the decades old Clinton dynasty will eventually sink in.

It's clearly got them befuddled.

Nonsense.  For those who voted for Trump, the end of the Clintons was the cherry on the parfait.   ^-^

We weren't talking about you.

I don't know about that, jmyrle.

It was clear  you and I were talking about Democrats, so perhaps she realized that we WERE talking about her.

(Either that or she's so anxious to fight that she doesn't even care that she's entirely mistaken about what's being said).

At any rate, the Democrats are befuddled, as I said previously......

If the country continues to be be 50/50 conservative/liberal, i could see elections being invalidated by these shenanigans and getting thrown to the House and Senate. Eventually our legislative bodies would be choosing our Presidents, much like it happens in Europe and in parliamentary nations.

Next, you're going to probably tell us what great sex you and your husband have......

Although this stupid post doesn't deserve a response, I will point out that I came on this thread and attacked Democrats.

I have done that repeatedly, and your saying that I do nothing but attack the "good" people of this forum is an outright lie, and beneath you.

I said here, in agreement with @jmyrlefuller , that the Democrats are confused by Trump's victory, and you misinterpreted it.

I don't want to have to put you on ignore, but stop with the gratuitous ad hominems.  And if you can't refrain from stupid stuff, then at least try to come close to the truth with your attacks.

To hell they are.

I've been watching and reading their blatant passive aggressiveness for months.  And I'm sick of it.

Where in the hell are you and the rest of the MODS when every time @truth_seeker or @Right_in_Virginia make a post....only to see those two run to attack them.

The silence is deafening.  @musiclady 's sanctimony is nauseating.

I was told by MOD3 the other day I was a "good egg" for removing my signature meme, with the word "shit" in it.

Meanwhile we have @Wingnut and @Frank Cannon posting their usual risque crudeness in virtually every post.....as if they were in some kind of comedic elimination match.   BTW....their posts don't upset me personally, but for chrissakes....show a but of consistency, man.

I knew there was a lot more going on than your mistake about my attack on Democrats on this thread.  Yikes.

Let it be known that I respond to truth seeker when he repeatedly attacks THIS FORUM.  I have Right in Virginia on perpetual Ignore, and only respond to her when she personally attacks me (and I accidentally see it), as she did on this thread.  Otherwise I couldn't give a rip about what she says and enjoy not seeing anything she says, let alone responding to it..

For the record, lately most of my posts have been about the shooting in Ft. Lauderdale, the obnoxiousness and hideousness of the Obama's, and Donald Trump's lack of qualifications for President and perversion, not liking GPS, Pachelbel's Canon in D, the rotten leftist media, and a whole slew of other topics.

The idea that I spend most of my time attacking people on this forum is absurd.

Especially when you're on a thread where I was attacking Democrats and RiV came out of the blue to attack me.

Take some time off, @DCPatriot
