Since when did the Palestinians become entitled to a state?
By Ted Belman

As Newt Gingrich said in 2011, “The Palestinians are an invented people.”

In 1964, the Palestine Liberation Organization was formed to liberate Palestine through armed struggle. But it took years for the notion of a Palestinian people to crystalize.  In 1967, they were not recognized as such, nor were they considered a party to the conflict.  Security Council Resolution 242 passed after the ’67 war, made no mention of them.

Well, Ted -- the same UN resolution that created the modern state of Israel, also recommended an Arab state.  The Arabs wanted it all and refused it -- but that's when they became so-entitled.

It wouldn't have worked, but that's the truth of the matter.

The Kurds deserve a state, not the Palestinians.

They have consistently tried to build an independent, functional state... but have been thwarted by regional and international actors.

Whereas Palestinians have had regional and international actors try and given them a state... but have consistently refused one (and destroyed any infrastructure put under their control).
