Obama, Dems eyeing strategy to defend ObamaCare
By Peter Sullivan - 12/30/16 11:38 AM EST

President Obama will head to Capitol Hill next week to meet with Democratic lawmakers to discuss a strategy to fight the ObamaCare repeal effort.

Obama will hold a joint meeting with House and Senate Democrats at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Capitol Visitor Center auditorium. The notice for the meeting says the session is expected to last "at least one hour."

The White House said Obama will use the meeting to "share his perspective about the dangers posed by Congressional Republicans’ stated strategy to repeal the [Affordable Care Act] before proposing any replacement, creating chaos in the health system in the short run — and holding hostage Americans’ health care — while Republicans develop their plan."

They might not need to.

Trump loves the individual mandate and the GOPe loves the tax revenue and the squishes think we need to replace it with "something"

Exactly.

Nothing - and I mean NOTHING is going to be done to stop, abolish or undo ObamaCare.

Congress could totally defund it - and the Left would scream bloody murder and the free market could reassert itself - but no.

This people WANT the government to "care" for their chosen constituencies.

So it is here to stay - and because the camel's nose is under the tent now - much worse is coming.  But hey - it's OUR Fascism now - so it's okay!  Republicans can better manage central planning!

I am sure they will put up a show and in the end make some minor tweaks and declare victory and say "It's the best we could do"

Meanwhile Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are kicking over chairs in the cloakroom

It's been Kabuki Theater with the Republican Party ever since we gave them control of the Senate.   McConnell vowed in his reelection campaign to get rid of ObamaCare 'Root and branch', and has not only fully funded it's implementation, announced that ObamaCare was 'here to stay, but would have 'adjustments' made to it over the next 4 to 5 years.

Kabuki - that is all the Republican party is good for.

That and capitulating to the Marxist Left at every opportunity.

Glad I am no longer affiliated with that party.
