Connie Mauro worked in New York at Mount Vernon Public Library for almost 50 years. During her time there, she came across thousands of people and accumulated hundreds of stories.

And for her 99th birthday, Mauro's caretakers at Atria Johnson Ferry in Marietta, Georgia — the nursing home where she lives — wanted to take her down memory lane.

One of Mauro's fondest memories was of a young boy who frequently came into her library. That boy happens to be Denzel Washington.
