Obamas leave for two-week Hawaii vacation
By Jordan Fabian - 12/16/16 06:32 PM EST

President Obama on Friday left the frigid nation’s capital for his final winter vacation in Hawaii as president.

The president, first lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters, Sasha and Malia, boarded Air Force One just before 6 p.m. for the long flight to Honolulu.

When the First Family lands, they’ll find themselves in much warmer climes.

The temperature in Washington when the Obamas departed hovered around 25 degrees. In Honolulu, it was 73 degrees.

Didn't he recently say that one good thing about not being president anymore is that he'll be able to take decent vacations, or something to that effect?

One last chance to stick it to the American taxpayer and voter.  One last Obama index finger directed at America.  Of course, Barry will be expressing his thoughts about America and anyone on the right from now until forever, despite the fact that nobody cares what he thinks.

I thought he was going to do something about China seizing our drone.

I'm sure he will be plotting his strategy on the golf course.  Yeah, that's it.

And the poor baby can't stand "frigid" Washington?  He should have been in my  neck of the woods when it was single digits with wind chills of -12.

No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington

He should extend it to January 20, 2017.

I doubt he wants to go to the inaugural, anyway.

Eh.  That's Trump's problem.

Why do you want it to be Obama's?  Do you think he'd do a better job about it than Trump?

Trump is SOOOOOO presidential.

Anyone who thought Trump would be an improvement over Obama is very much mistaken.

It would have been much cheaper if they would have taken the last eight years as a fully paid vacation on us.

KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Barack Obama kicked off his final Hawaii vacation as president Saturday with -- what else? -- a relaxing round of golf with friends.

Golf is among the president's favorite pastimes during his Christmas vacations in the islands, and this one is proving to be no exception. Obama spent four hours Saturday playing with friends at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course inside Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The first family landed in the islands just before 11 p.m. Friday, and are expected to remain in Hawaii through the new year.

Obama been coming to the islands for the holidays since before he was elected president, but the Hawaii native kept up the tradition even after being elected.

A sign that reads "Aloha Obama Ohana" hangs at the entrance of Kailuana Place where the first family will spend their final two-week Hawaii vacation before leaving the White House.

The presidential visit means tough security, and on Saturday that was on full display in Kailua Bay, where beachgoers were kept away from the first family's vacation rental home and even surfers were pushed westward.

"I think its an honor to have him here in Kailua," said Kailua resident Mark Kelliher. "I think we're probably the safest place on earth right now."

Hawaii visitors were also excited to know their vacation coincided with the president's. "We're just a five-minute walk from here. We had no idea this stuff would be going on so it's pretty cool," said Seattle resident Bob Chevrette.

In addition to golfing, an Obama Christmas vacation typically also includes hiking, beach days, fine dining and, of course, the obligatory stop for shave ice.

"Whenever he comes, it's really cool, " said Julia Kelliher, of Kailua. "It's so cool because we know he's in one of those houses."
Of course, he was joined on the links by Bobby Titcomb, the ol' pal rumored to be his drug dealer.
