There is no way in the universe that Obama or Hillary would ever have appointed Mattis to run DoD, Kelly to run Homeland Security, Sessions to be AG, or Pompeo to run the CIA.  Those are all hardcore conservative picks in critical national security positions, not just "embroidery", and not something we'd ever have gotten from an "Obama-lookalike".

Recall Trump had said this about Hillary after the election:

“I don’t want to hurt them, They’re good people.” in reference to his decision not to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Hillary's e-mail treason.

Trump buddies up with anyone who says nice things to him, and takes to Twitter to publicly assault anyone who questions or disses him.

Actually, Chao was the name that popped into my head as well.

Trump is still an a-hole who does stupid shit, but praising the current President is not a bad way to lessen opposition and get some folks to give him a second look.  That may be particularly appealing to some moderate fence-sitters.  It's just words that ultimately cost nothing, but to some people, they matter.

Oh Puhleeze! The freaking election is over!  He is "president-elect" for crying out loud and he doesn't have to 'appeal' to moderate fence sitters for any reason.  I mean, he is busy bashing giant corporations and those entities that would be huge big donor coffers to his party and reelection efforts in the future - so that attempt at justification for Trump's accommodation of Obama's approvals (and Al Gore's Climate Change bullshit) to appeal to moderates is silly on it's face.

Trump was, is and will always be a Liberal Democrat Fascist.
