CHICAGO (CBS) — A few weeks after speaking to President-elect Donald Trump about the White House transition, Mayor Rahm Emanuel was scheduled to meet with Trump in New York.

Earlier this week, the mayor confirmed Trump called him after winning the race for president, because of Emanuel’s experience as a top adviser to two presidents.

“The president-elect is aware, obviously, I’ve worked for two presidents in different positions – a senior adviser for President Clinton, chief of staff for President Obama – and I’ve worked on their transitions. I think you also know that we talked about a host of things, a host of issues,” Emanuel said.

Oh!!!!! Wow.  The most liberal destructive politician in Chicago.  Corrupt and cause of corrupt politics in Chicago keeping that city one of the deadliest cities in the country.  Immediately I think of Trumps promises to the black community.  It has been the liberal politicians like Emanuel who have destroyed education and kept their cities violent and hopeless.

Trump is a secular humanist...the "art of the deal". His 70 years are shaped by a potpourri of living and working in cosmopolitan and mostly liberal New York City, and doing deals with crony capitalists and malleable and corrupt politicians around the world.

He hasn't taken office yet, but I'm not surprised by anything he's done so far. What has surprised me are the so-called "free market capitalists" who decried Obama's GM bail out, while praising Carrier's bail out.

I had a nice conversation with @nathanbedford on TOS yesterday regarding the change of philosophy among "capitalists". Yes, it's far better to remove excessive regulations and lower tax rates across the board, while swallowing anomalies like Carrier to recognize displacements caused by bad trade deals, and currently excessive taxes and regulations.

Naturally, NB was savaged by Trumpsters on TOS, IOW another day at the office.

Conservatives no longer matter to the UniParty, or to Trump. Our silence will be thunderous in 2018, for if the Republicans in Congress fail to govern and act on their majorities (tax reform, immigration, etc.), they risk losing their majorities when we sit on our hands.

    I fail to see the difference in your groups 'American' Conservative and 'Republican' Conservative in actions alone they both voted for a NY Liberal believing all these things will be accomplished.

You consider electing someone who is merrily repudiating all the promises he made to you a win?

I cannot wait to see the head-in-the-sand mental gymnastics Trump-lovers will get up to trying to explain how Trumps retention of Obamas immigration plans is somehow consistent with all of the anti-immigrant blather Trump fed you during the campaign.
