Issa clings to narrow lead in last undecided House race
By Pete Kasperowicz (@PeteKDCNews) • 11/24/16 9:10 AM

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., appears to be on the cusp of narrowly winning the toughest House race he's faced since he was first elected to the House in 2000.

Issa has held a lead of roughly 5,000 votes out of more than 260,000 votes cast, and an updated count this week had him ahead just 3,003 votes, with thousands of votes still left to count, according to the San Diego Tribune.

That new vote tally should give Issa the win over his challenger, retired Marine Col. Doug Applegate. But as of Tuesday, Applegate hadn't conceded the race, according to the Orange County Register.

"We are waiting until every vote is counted," said Applegate's campaign manager, Robert Dempsey.
