A handful of Senate Republicans are expected to stonewall Trump’s appointments, as well as his strategy to curb illegal immigration.

Sen. Rand Paul says he will block Senate confirmations if Trump nominates either former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani or former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton to be secretary of state.
Paul to MSNBC: "We have a 52-48 majority, all it would take is two or three Republicans to say they can’t go along with Giuliani and can’t go along with Bolton.”
Sen. Lindsay Graham is against the Mexican border wall and is delivering warnings against Trump's intention to revoke legal status for undocumented immigrants.
Graham: "I am going to be kind of a hard *** on Russia. We can’t sit on the sidelines and let cyber attacks blamed on Russia go unanswered."
Senior Senate aides and lawmakers: Arizona's John McCain and Jeff Flake, Nebraska's Ben Sasse, Florida's Marco Rubio, Maine's Susan Collins and Alaska's Lisa Murkowski, may also oppose Trump.
Senior Republican aide: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is “loathe” to spend time trying to move bills that lack the needed Senate votes.

That headline seems a bit overstated.   The only one who has made noises about nominations is Paul.  And the others seem far more speculative than certain.  Frankly, Graham can't do a damn thing if Trump decides to reverse DACA.  That only takes wiping out Obama's own executive order.

Unless Mitch's wife is a member of Trump's cabinet. I see the "method to Trump's madness".

Lindsey and his gang better play it closer to the vest. Trump has made it clear he's all about the "deal", and there are likely a handful of Dems that he'll be able to peel off.

You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

Checks and balances. Trump is going to have to learn to play nice with other people to get what he wants, and so are his supporters.

He isn't peeling off democrats unless he's trying to move liberal, or at least left of center, policies, so if he does, that'll simply be more confirmation that he's just another liberal and his supporters just world-class schmucks.
