Bolton Warns of Risky International Period For U.S. Ahead of Trump Inauguration

Veteran diplomat John Bolton warned that in the period before Donald Trump's inauguration, the United States is at risk of being taken "advantage of" by adversaries looking to avoid dealing with Trump.

Speaking to John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” Sunday radio show on AM 970 in New York, Bolton, the former UN Ambassador, said that he is “particularly worried about what [Obama] might do with respect to Israel and the United Nations. There’s a lot of speculation … about resolutions that recognize a Palestinian state or that try to set a boundary for Israel based on the 1967 cease-fire lines. I think it would be very inadvisable for the president to do that.”

Bolton conceded that there is a certain amount of anxiety in the international community, since Trump’s victory was unexpected. His actual policies are also unknown.
