Boob belt does not empire style make, but I think that was the idea.  I suspect the boob belt was thought to make her boobs look bigger and draw the eye away from her thick waist.  It failed miserably.  It merely made her a bigger joke than she already was from her nasty comments.

A well designed empire waist dress is very flattering for a woman with a larger waist.

Michelle's costumes made every part of her look worse.

@CatherineofAragon check your email.

I sent you the most darling velvet hat. I want Santa to bring me for the holiday.

Maybe Santa can get it for you too. (Hint for hubby)

@Freya

Oh, that's a cute one...you should get it.  Normally hats won't fit over my curly mane, lol.

She is European, boobs are no big deal to Europeans.

@jpsb

It isn't just boobs.  It's being curled up naked in bed with another woman.

I'll put you a small sum that she goes for a couple of talented unknowns to showcase.
One of the criticisms of Melania seems to be that she wears too much "off-the-rack" stuff and not enough Moochelle-like overpriced designer togs. Oh, the horror! If only she were more like Michelle Obama, what a wonderful world it would be!   :thud:

It's a rather ridiculous charge - Melania may well wear quite a bit of off the rack stuff since she's exactly the size pret a porter designers use in the first place! It fits her as intended and flows well.

Meh - like I said though, she'll pick a couple of talented unknowns to showcase. Virtually every model does when they get some power, are in the public eye, and have no real interest in starting their own line.

No going backwards now either. Now that we have Melania doing soft-core there isn't really anything off limits.  **nononono*

So when Chelsea runs for president, she may as well kick off the campaign with a Penthouse-like photo spread.  :2barf:

Well I won't hold that against her, she comes from a different culture where professional models do that kind of thing and far worse, however she is assimilating to our culture very nicely IMHO.

Doubt it. If she'd wanted to, she could have at any time - I highly doubt Donald would have stood in her way on that. Plus I get the impression (and it is only my impression) that she's too fundamentally honest to put her name to someone else work like a lot of them do.

@Puss-N-Boots

I think the gold dress is lovely and it suits Melania.  For me personally, metallics and sequins/glitter aren't my thing, but if I had her means, I would have a ball with custom-made clothes.  I'd find a length of gorgeous silk velvet in black or dark green and have an absolute killer dress made.

Ooh, I love dark green!  Or a nice dark blue.

I'm not sure that would be a good idea. Chelsea's look is not quite right. She is not what anyone would call, "photogenic".

There is fashion, which is the art of keeping the herd stampeding across the pasture for a different hay bale, and charging them a fortune for it. It goes in cycles, back and forth, which are long enough that you give the stuff to Goodwill or 'outgrow' it before it comes back in 'style'.

Then there is fashion design, which is the art of camouflaging the less attractive features of a person's physique and emphasizing the best ones.

Maybe I don't understand it because I don't have any less attractive features.

I don't exactly see Melania rocking the M.O. boob belt look.

My wife would assure you that I'm not.  Can't think of the last time we went somewhere that she didn't "suggest" that I change clothes first.

My husband has two fashion sides to him..... the professional (which I pick out, other than his suits), and the "home," where it's hard to distinguish between his dress and your average vagabond.  ^-^

Basically, I'm not that interested in fashion.  When I watch models wearing the newest fashions, I pretty much always think they look stupid.  I seriously am more of a jeans and sweatshirt kind of woman.... and have been since I was a kid.  I dress fine to go to church and teach my classes and have a few nice things for professional social engagements, but otherwise, I'm extremely casual.

The whole thing is too much trouble, IMO.  And WAY too expensive for my frugality to indulge in.

What a b'tch...I am sure there are many designers who would love to showcase their designs by Melania wearing them

It's easy to get boycotted.  Ask the Chixie Dicks.......

@jpsb

I say this with all respect, okay?  Don't hand me that.  Lesbian porn shots are not an acceptable part of a First Lady's history.  Now when she goes overseas and greets foreign leaders, they will have seen her naked with another woman.

What's done is done; her husband has been elected now.  But please don't try to whitewash it.

Also, "she's assimiliating nicely to our culture?"  What the hell is she, a member of a cannibal tribe from Borneo?
