IIRC, she edited the speech and inserted the parts that are so like  the words of others.

I'm still gobsmacked that Americans fell for the whole circus.

Me too.  And people who like Ivanka so much.   As a person or mother I can see it.  She appears to be a successful mother and business woman.  Her kids are so cute to.  I don't doubt she is a most excellent mother.  But she is liberal to the core.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

I don't know her, personally, so I can't say. She seems charming and all that, but I haven't seen how she treats the doorman or the wait staff or the other 'little people'. She'd certainly learn to be camera conscious in a modeling career.
Her children appear to be well, well trained, for want of a better term, image conscious, too.
That doesn't make her any less liberal, and maybe the distance is so he can claim she wasn't having so much effect on his politics.
(As if!! The hand that rocks the cradle...)

But again, the proof is in the pudding, and many people who have money treat the folks who work at more menial tasks like crap. When I was single a few last dates happened over that. So, I'd have to observe her to be able to make a reasonable judgement as to what sort of person she is.

Side rant:
(The waitress is someone's mom/sister/daughter/girlfriend/wife trying their best to make a living. That deserves basic respect. It isn't an easy job. If things go poorly, she's having a bad day. Whatever the problem is, it can be worked out calmly without being demeaning or creating a ruckus. If there are no problems and your beverages were never empty, she did her job well. Making more money or having a more prestigious job is no excuse to be a jerk. It's amazing how many people think it is.)

No I don't get the idea she is rude to anyone regardless of social class.  I like her as much as I have seen.  I have checked out her twitter a few times.  Its always encouraging stuff.  Doesn't make her a Conservative.  It was evident in RNC speech.

She definitely has some very Left views. Right now, I'm not fussed too much about that - I'm more focused on the fact she's a decent person who has Trump's ear. The more of them, the better.

All of you are forgetting a major point of the Trump victory. We finally got rid of Hillary. This is bigger than you may think. Say whatever you want about Trump's wife, at least she is not a traitor, and an unconvicted felon who sold access to U.S. Government secrets, contracts, and concessions, for personal gain. After all the things Hillary has done, any poor choices Melania may, or may not have made, seem innocent by comparison. Can you imagine the Queen of England eating crumpets and sipping tea with a woman who has been accused of facilitating murder several times?

Furthermore, since this thread is about fashion, because Hillary is gone we will no longer have to put up with the endless parade of pants-suits, and the endless collection of communist style moomoos that she loves.

Hillary Clinton is wearing my couch fabric as some kind of overcoat. Or something?

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Let's wait until we see how she actually dresses once she's First Lady.

She may surprise us. On the other hand, she may not. I'm willing to give her a chance.

However, my favorite First Lady will always be Dolly Madison. She brought ice cream to America.  :kisses2:

I can't believe we're still talking about this.

I guess everyone is sick of politics and this is kind of a fun topic.

My sentiments exactly.  At this point, what difference does it make what she wears?  The only thing we should care about is what she bares. She isn't going to be living in the White House anyways, so she shouldn't be a focal point.  Americans have enough to worry about right now as to what Trump is actually going to do without focusing on what the heck his trophy wife is wearing.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

That was the ensemble that some said resembled an old Kirby vacuum cleaner. I'll just be glad that we won't be seeing the gushing "Michelle is a style icon!" posts on a daily basis anymore. If the press ignores Melania and what she's wearing, great.

@Freya

I don't really have a favorite First Lady, but that's as good a reason as any, lol.   ^-^

I agree with you about Melania's clothing choices.  I remember she wore a cold-shoulder top to one of the debates, which was inappropriate for her, but she'll have people advising her now.  So far there's been no repeat of that type of thing.

Like I said earlier, I'm interested in seeing how she, with her history of modeling, will dress.  If someone interprets that as being less concerned about Trump I can't help it.  She's in there now.  Doesn't make her past porn shots any more acceptable, but I like clothes, and as a woman I notice what other women wear.  *shrug*

Yet Trump now wants to let Hillary heal.  They are two peas in a pod.  He would embrace any level of corruption or crime to get what he wants also.  "Believe Me"!!!!!

I agree.  They would have to go to New York to get the updates anyway since she has snubbed the tradition of living in the White House.  We are all going to have to pay to babysit Melania as she continues her New York lifestyle.  It seems she doesn't want to sacrifice any change at all.

Hey, the guys talk about cars and stuff, so I'm enjoying some fashion talk.

It's when they get into motorcycles that it gets really icky.  Don't want to generalize but does having a big hog make you a man?

Excellent point we need to remind ourselves of every day.  I do and it is the reason I am not quite as mean about Trump as I want to be.

But Hillary had a lot to hide and I can't criticize her choices.  Now, Michelle Obama ... that's a whole other story.  Michelle had figure faults but she always had the money to hire good designers to deal with them.  Instead ... well, you know.  I think I've seen two, maybe three pictures of Michelle looking good in an outfit.

You kinda got that bassackwards, Emjay. The bigger you are, the bigger the motorcycle you need to go down the road and not look ridiculous. Phrases with words like "monkey" and "football" describing intimate acts in motion come to mind.
