House veterans chair says he would ‘very seriously’ consider running VA

The outgoing chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.), says he's open to serving as President-elect Donald Trump's VA secretary if asked.

Miller, who has been mentioned frequently as a possible pick by Trump to lead the VA, said in an interview that "if a president-elect asks you to be a part of his team, you have to look at that very seriously."

"I'm just saying I would look at it very seriously," Miller told POLITICO in an interview. "I mean, that would be a discussion that anybody would have with the next commander-in-chief."
