Democrats demand that Trump rescind Bannon appointment

Democrats on Tuesday began demanding President-elect Donald Trump rescind his controversial appointment of Steve Bannon.

Congressional Democrats circulated a letter Tuesday asking Trump to pull his appointment of Bannon, the CEO of Trump’s presidential campaign and a former executive chairman of Breitbart, the alt-right news organization.

Trump tapped Bannon on Sunday as his chief strategist and senior counselor, a position the president-elect’s statement suggested was equal and perhaps even more influential than his installation of Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus as his chief of staff.

The beauty of electing Trump is that he is a businessman. He likely would see their demand as a weakness. It means that he has something they want.


Rather than do like Bush and fold and apologize immediately like a fool, Trump would use it as leverage. Ok, I'll consider your request. But if I do that for you, what will you give me?


Trump is a negotiator. He's not going to do anything unless he gets the better end of the deal.

I doubt he cares what they think and that's a good thing.  I don't believe for a second that Bannon is a racist.  He may be a jerk but he's not a racist.  The Rats call anyone they don't like racist when in reality it is they who are racists.  The Donald can't let them dictate stuff like this.

The GOP AND democrats are trying to roll Trump, the republicans slipping in their establishment guys and democrats making their belligerent demands.

I wonder which is worse:  Being someone in media like Bannon that gets a political appointment or a political appointee that goes into the media like Stephanopolus, among others?

I daresay the latter is worse, primarily because one could use one's influence when in power to land that cushy job.
