That would be a very good thing.
I'd think so if Bolton hadn't essentially become a bomb-throwing pundit since his days in the UN. His confirmation will be a circus.

Nevertheless, what we need for Secretary of State is a man who can cushion Trump's sharp edges, and can reassure allies and negotiating partners who are worried about what Trump will do. (Sorry, ladies, but mainly for reasons of perceptions, this time around it needs to be a man.)
Bolton's not that guy. Rightly or wrongly, Bolton's record of brash public statements will paint him as an extension of Trump, rather than the necessary strong and calm face of US foreign policy.
I think a guy like Corker would probably be a better choice.
