This almost qualifies as "alternate realities" but yes, there was a hoax they were getting divorced and it appears Huff Po saw the need to quell the allegation. There is some sort of real-looking document floating around the net but it finds itself mainly in the more obscure corners.
But a heads up in case one sees this somewhere.

Don’t believe that story about Hillary Clinton filing for divorce from her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in the aftermath of her presidential election defeat. It’s totally fake.
The Christian Times Newspaper’s website published a story titled “BREAKING: Hillary Clinton files for divorce in New York courts” on Thursday.
It alleged that attorneys for the former Democratic presidential candidate had served papers, citing “irreconcilable differences” between her and the former president, with the Supreme Court of the State of New York for Westchester County earlier that day.
But myth-debunking website Snopes.com ― which specializes in dispelling hoax news stories and urban legends ― disproved the rumor just hours later.

I think that Christian Times had some other cockamamie story recently, they are not being very Christian.
