Breaking now on the FNC website.

ETA:

President-elect Donald Trump will appoint Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus as his chief of staff, two sources with knowledge of the decision told Fox News Sunday.

Priebus was one of Trump’s most loyal lieutenants during the real estate mogul's up-and-down campaign that resulted in many Republicans, particularly lawmakers seeking reelection, to distance themselves from Trump.

Trump praised Preibus’ efforts in his victory speech after his upset win over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

Priebus was thought to be one of two finalists for the chief of staff post, along with Trump campaign CEOfficer Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News.

Bannon is expected to be named senior counselor to the president, the sources told Fox News.

Because nothing says "political outsider" "Drain the swamp" and "unbeholden" more than hiring the head of the RNC to lead your troops.

Want to bet he holds on to the chairmanship? It makes sense from a business perspective - keep tight control. Doesn't mean we have to like it, but it is logical given Trump's background in business.

Exactly what a lot of neverTrumper's said would happen.

Let's see what happens in the first 6 months after he's sworn in. I'm hoping the Pubs finally recognize that people are fed up with the "old boys network" and it's time to implement the things Trump talked about. If they don't the 2018 elections will be ugly. The swing voters who elected Trump won't have any loyalty to the Pubs.

You've got the guy who ensured the floor revolt against Trump was quashed...strengthened the Chairman's position in the process and has been one of the biggest GOPe roadblocks to a Conservative nominee being rewarded for his loyalty.

This doesn't bode well for anyone who doesn't support the establishment.
