Nate Silver: Polls could not keep up with changing demographics
By Mallory Shelbourne - 11/13/16 11:34 AM EST

FiveThirtyEight statistician Nate Silver said Sunday that the general election polls could not keep up with America's changing demographics.

"It's not simply a matter of the polls underestimating Trump," Silver told CNN's Brian Stelter on Reliable Sources. "It's not catching up to the demographic changes in the country."

While most polls showed Clinton leading Trump and forecasts gave the secretary of State upwards of a 90 percent chance of winning the election, Silver's analysis gave Trump a better chance than any other forecast.

On Election Day, FiveThirtyEight gave Trump a 29 percent chance of reaching the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency.

Silver received criticism for his election forecasts. The Huffington Post wrote an article earlier this month accusing Silver of skewing polls, sparking a tweet storm from Silver.

Glad Silver stuck to his guns. Anyone with any brain for politics could see in the week before election day that Hillary was at best barely in the lead and was losing mojo while Trump was gaining. The only question was did Trump gain enough, fast enough to overcome her.

The media didn't want to see that and simply deluded themselves, sawing off the limb they were out on.
The Republic is lost.

Leading up to election time the media, the democrats, were incestuous. They fed off each other, adopting a single self-serving paradigm.

It failed to research the TRUTH, which was the voters were giving them a great big middle finger. Call it "silent majority," call it "hidden Trump voters," call it "Bradley effect."

So they can make all of the excuses they want. Trump and his supporters have down to earth common sense good judgment, and the nay-sayers live in a world full of over-inflated views of themselves.

Trump's voters simply said "CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?"

And yet more people voted for Mitt Romney than voted for Donald Trump.

There was no uprising, only a bunch of Obama voters that sat this one out.
