    It’s official: The majority of Michigan voters elected Donald Trump to be the nation’s next president.

    According to election totals, Trump won Michigan by .28 percent of the vote — roughly 13,000 votes.

    “The vote was 47.59 to Trump and 47.31 for Hillary Clinton,” WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief said live on WWJ Newsradio. “The 16 electoral votes for Michigan go to Donald Trump and the Republicans, the first time that’s happened since 1988.”

306 is not landslide.

Obama got 332 in 2012.
Obama got 365 in 2008.
[Bush barely wins two elections. Like barely.]
Clinton got 379 in 1996. (much more like a landslide)
Clinton got 370 in 1992.
George HW Bush got 426 in 1988 (LANDSLIDE).
Reagan got 525 in 1984 (Unprecedented landslide BLOWOUT!)
Reagan got 489 in 1980 (Landslide!)

Trump eked this out,but it was no landslide. Not as badly as Bush barely eked out his two victories, but we should start to recognize that after the Reagan years, Democrats have been winning by wider margins than Republicans.

Nope.  This is new.  AZ was just called yesterday, which brought the total to 290.  I think NH still remains.

Seriously, the more I think about this, the more annoyed it makes me.

Keep on thinking Trump won a LANDSLIDE YUGE VICTORY! All you are doing is setting yourself for a major defeat in the future. Trump won with numbers closer to Bush than Reagan. Keep that in mind. Reagan laid out a passionate case for conservatism. Trump started out as a NY liberal and edged his way to more conservative views but is willing to negotiate just about anything.

If you want conservatism to gain the kind of support it did during the Reagan years, you have to recognize that the approach Trump is taking - while a winning strategy - is NOT a landslide strategy. I suppose you can be content with that, but I want to give you one more set of numbers to chew on:

CA
Clinton 61.5%
Trump 33.2%
- Clinton +28.3%

TX
Trump 52.6%
Clinton 43.4%
- Trump +9.2%

Pay close attention. Liberal bastions are actual bastions. The GOP is holding on to TX by a mere 2.6% over majority. The spread in CA is 3x that in TX.

Ask yourself how much harder it would be to shift CA to red than TX to blue. Then take a look at some other big electoral states that Trump relied on. Close, close, close. What happens to conservatism if TX ever becomes a swing state?

This is not a landslide and anyone who rests on their laurels thinking it is a simply a fool who is going to get crushed as the dems continue to exploit changing demographics in this country.

My number for calling it a landslide is twice the opponent or 360 electors.
306 is a solid win and congratulations to Trump.  I would even say that there is enough votes to call it a mandate.  But landslide is a bit if a reach.

FWIW, AP still has not called Michigan.  AZ is called, though, and that's a total of 290 EVs.  One can argue "What's a landslide?" but it really doesn't matter.

The only fly in that is that Trump would  have won Texas by a much larger margin had Texas not set a record for third party and write in votes this time around.

    Hillary didn't turn Texas purple, Trump did.  3rd party Alternatives even turned Tom 'The Hammer' Delays  Fort bend County in Texas to Blue, that's significant.
