Santorum sees Trump charting new course for Republican Party

By James Q. Lynch Times Bureau

MARION — Donald Trump wasn’t Rick Santorum’s first choice for the Republican presidential nomination.

“I was for somebody else,” the winner of the 2012 Iowa GOP precinct caucuses joked Monday. “But once I got that silly idea out of my head,” — he finished last this year with 1 percent of the caucus vote — “I endorsed Donald Trump.”

However, the former Pennsylvania senator hasn’t given up on his populist message of embracing the values and concerns of America’s working people who are not sharing in what little economic growth there has been in recent years.

“A rising tide lifts all boats except if your boat has a hole in it,” Santorum told about 50 people at MJ’s Restaurant in Marion where he joined Iowa senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, and 1st District Rep. Rod Blum for a pep rally. “We have millions and millions of Americans with holes in their boats, so when the tide goes up — and it has, just look at Wall Street, look at real estate prices – so why don’t people feel well? Because when the tide is up and you’re in a boat has a hole, you’re sinking deeper.”

And for inspiration Trump looked to...

Edward John Smith

Edward Smith (sea captain) Edward John Smith, RD (27 January 1850 – 15 April 1912) was a British Merchant Navy officer. He served as master of numerous White Star Line vessels. He is best known as the captain of the RMS Titanic, perishing when the ship sank on its maiden voyage.

Santorum is proving to be another disappointment.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

When this election is over, I think we will find out why half of these candidates really ran for President.

Oh, yeah...

How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!
