Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is set to appear with Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence at a campaign rally on Thursday in Prole, Iowa, according to reports.

The event will mark the first time Cruz will appear alongside either Pence or Donald Trump on the campaign trail since announcing his support for the Republican ticket.

Cruz announced in late September that he will vote for the GOP nominee, whom he declined to endorse in his speech before the Republican National Convention in July, when he called for the American people to "vote your conscience" and was subsequently booed by the GOP crowd.

The Texas senator could be of benefit in Iowa — a state Trump currently leads — as he won the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses back in February, topping Trump and Sen. Marco Rubio.

A Cruz representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Let's see...Cruz is a member of the GOP Senate.  Do you feel he should have campaigned for McMullin, Johnson or Castle?  IF he thought that there was a snowball's chance that it would have stopped Hillary, I honestly believe he would have done so.

They're all soiled. Pence has had to swallow every last bit of his integrity to basically lie for Trump on the campaign trail.

Cruz took a heroic stance in Cleveland then, when he got nothing in return and just before Trump lost the first debate, he decides to endorse.  Cruz compromised himself as well and is now humiliating himself on a public stage.

Trump is no better than he was when he trashed Cruz's wife and accused Cruz's father of murder.   In fact, he's worse.

But, here Cruz is, sucking up to the most reprehensible GOP politician in our history.

Agreed. Regardless of what Cruz does, he's going to catch flack. He came in second. He hasn't changed his position he's dealing with what he's been dealt. Trump won the party nomination and he's standing with his party over the DEMS.  Refusing to support the party that he belongs to is counter productive.  He's supporting party, he's supporting maintaining the Senate and he's doing what he feels he needs to do to stop Hillary. 

Ted has already stated that he would do what he could to help Donald IF he becomes president.  Expecting Cruz to take on the mindset from the very beginning that he's going to oppose Trump at every turn is counterproductive for the country.

Again you and I have different perspectives. I think Cruz discussed this with his wife and his father before the ultimate decision was made to vote for him.  As to your question, I cannot answer that as I am not in his position; one of potential influence and of making a difference for the entire country for generations to come.
