South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said Thursday she is "not a fan" of either Donald Trump or his opponent Hillary Clinton but will vote Trump for president.

Haley, a Republican, was asked if she still supports Trump during a press conference pertaining to her flood and Hurricane Matthew relief fund.

"I think I've been really clear," Haley said. "This election has really turned my stomach upside down. It has been embarrassing for both parties. It's not something the country deserves, but it's what we've got.

"Having said that, I will tell you, this is no longer a choice for me on personalities because I'm not a fan of either one. What it is about is policy."

WIS-TV posted video of Haley's remarks.

Haley then touched on several policy issues, including national security, Obamacare, and the appointment of Supreme Court justices.

"When I look at all of those, I come back to say that the best person based on the policies and dealing with things like Obamacare, still is Donald Trump," Haley said. "That doesn't mean it's an easy vote, but it does mean that I'm watching out for the people of South Carolina, and I'm watching out for the people of this country. That's who I will be voting for."

Haley said in May she was not interested in serving as Trump's running mate but vowed to support the party's presidential nominee.

That is why I held my nose and had a nice long stiff drink after I early voted for Trump. Didn't like it, but consider the alternative.

If you vote for Trump, you support Trump.  All this cowardly dancing done by Republicans doesn't fool anybody.

Like hell. She is the Gov of a state and at best Donny might be President. Unless he is going to become Dictator over night like you want him to do, she doesn't have to do jack shit he says.

I was directing the "Gutless" comment to Nikki Haley, and didn't specify.  Sorry about that.

But I still don't understand that many here are going to roll over and vote for Trump, even when that vote is not going to matter.

She is the chief executive of her state...if anything her "boss" is the voting public of the state of South Carolina.
