Senate Democrats Poised to Pick Up 5-7 Seats

Senate Democrats Poised to Pick Up 5-7 Seats

Senate Republicans had been doing a pretty solid job of maintaining their distance from GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump by running their own campaign that focused largely on more local issues or those issues that motivate their base. The strategy was working fine and it looked as if Republicans would be able to keep their losses low. That is until October 7 when The Washington Post reported on the existence of the Access Hollywood tape in which Trump described sexually assaulting women. Then things started to unravel, albeit slowly.

If only we had elected principled people every election instead of caving in to the siren song of liberals that lesser evil no matter what is the way the truth and the light. But alas, every squish on the right 'knew better' and promised that 'next time' we could elect principled people. Yet every election comes and there they are, saying again that 'next time' we can do that.

Hopefully this time enough people will have learned their lesson about lesser evil to matter 'next time'. But eventually people will feel enough pain and stop electing liberals and making excuses as to WHY WE MUST elect liberals in the name of conservatism.

Kelo pre-dates Roberts.  The Obamacare decision was simply a delay in that no challenge to a tax can be decided until after that tax is enacted.  Now that the tax has been enacted, it is a winnable case.  Yet no one has since challenged it.

If that challenge comes back to the SCOTUS, I am fully confident that Roberts would rule the tax to be unconstitutional.  But sadly, Republicans are just as eager to gain control over our health care as are Democrats.  I am so sick of "Repeal and Replace".  I prefer "Repeal and then get the Federal Government the hell out of our healthcare."

We can hope that the Pubs hold on, but I wouldn't bet on it. In fact I sold off all my equities and rolled the money over into short term bonds and short term CDs. I think most people don't know that the new Senate Budget Committee Chairman will be a socialist (Sanders) if the Rats control the Senate.

Somehow I told you so just doesn't cover how badly Trump supporters blew the opportunity of a lifetime.

Indeed. But we should take every opportunity that comes up for the rest of their natural lives to remind them. Then pay their kids to carve it into their tombstones.  They earned it. Let their idiocy serve as a warning to others.

I'm not so sure we will ever see the USA as a Judeo-Christian nation again. I thought we would turn it around in this election. We had a lot of good candidates. I preferred Sen Cruz, but I would have supported Rubio, Fiorina, Walker, even Paul. Yet here we are with a guy who makes hillary look like she's not evil. It would be funny if it weren't so heart breaking.

I would bet in the next 4 years we will see a deep recession and possibly prolonged deflation. Couple this along with the 30+ million illegals being naturalized and unemployment will be devastating. Internationally I think we will continue to see a decline in our ability to stabilize regions and the rise of new autocratic regimes as allies forcing us to withdraw even more. Thanks a lot Trump and all your supporters.
