Politico: Electoral Vice Is Tightening on Trump's Chances to Win

Staring down defeat in several battleground states and facing a healthy 6-point average national deficit, Donald Trump's death spiral is all but imminent, according to Politico.

"Trump is done," GOP operative Jim Dornan told Politico.

The tell-tale signs are:

    Clinton with a 5-point lead or greater in 6 of the 11 battleground states;
    Clinton with a 6-point national average lead, according to RealClearPolitics;
    FiveThirtyEight showing Clinton with an 84 percent chance of winning and garnering 327 electoral votes.

Further, dead-red states like Utah, Arizona, Georgia and Texas are inexplicably back in play.

"The race is over," conservative Iowa radio host Steve Deace told Politico. "(Trump) helped the Democrats convince people he's crazy, and they'll always choose corrupt over crazy."

And it should have been the opposite, a "slam dunk" for Trump and Republicans, argued GOP strategist Frank Luntz.

"If he had stayed the voice and the vision for those people who have been left behind, this race would be a lot different than it is right now."
