World War II changed the world as we knew it. There were news outlets that displayed as much of the war as they could to show the world what was going on. However, not all things were shown and there were lots of things left out of the media. Here are some photos that you may not have seen from the war.

The captions to some of these pictures are just precious. In one slide showing four african american pilot trainees obviously receiving instructions from a white officer the caption reads 'african american pilots sing for a white officer'.

They are WRONG on photo #3. I have the Time-Life WW2 book series and that photo was actually taken in the SW Pacific in 1942 or 1943. The white things on the back of the dead Marine closest to the photographer are maggots.

Correct. The photo was taken on Buna.

Sixth graders musta captioned these pictures.

I can see a lot of those vets who died, if they came back to life and saw this election, they would be thinking, "We died for this?"

Cool photos, tried not to read the descriptions as they were poorly written and many were erroneous or just plain ignorant assumptions.

The one with the German prisoners coming down the hill with American troops guarding them, the "author" makes a gross assumption that the Germans were executed simply because the Americans are armed.
