I have a hard time looking in the mirror these days.  I see my reflection in the eyes of my preteen daughters and my 13 year old son.  They are the ones who will pay for my misjudgements.  I look at the Trump fist pumpers and "USA" chanters and see myself 15 years ago.  Never again.

I look at Hitlery and Trump and see no substantial difference, only surface obfuscation.  You see a genuine difference.  Good for you and your acquaintances.  I remain skeptical.

Skepticism is likely a survival skill in our era.

I just have read far too much about Shrillery et al . . . her degree of CHOSEN, WALLOWED-IN, EXALTED-IN DEMONIZED EVIL is unprecedented in a public creature in my lifetime.

I have no illusions or delusions that Trump can or will save us from much of anything.

I do believe he is UNABLE to be as raw evil as SHRILLERY THRILLS at being (even IF he wanted to be).

Certainly the oligarchy is DEDICATED to trashing the old order to make it easier and quicker to raise the 'new' order (as old as Babylon) on the ashes of the once great dream and vision of the US of A.

I'm not sure they greatly care HOW they do it or through whom. Though I suspect they'd prefer the most evil and ruthless person and methods.

Quix. You need to get a couple more layers of tinfoil on. First off, you misquoted the line/meme that the conspiracy kooks claim, without any evidence, that Casey said. It is: “We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”. Secondly, there is absolutely no evidence that he ever said it. None, Zero Nada.

Now that I corrected that glaring error, please feel free to continue on with your long winded screeds.

Happy to be corrected.

That's comforting. I'd love for that to be utterly false.

Nevertheless, the oligarchy is up to their pointed heads in deception, lies, farce etc. . . . no big surprise on that score. That's why the purported Casey statement was somewhat plausible.

/resident conspiracy kook, off.

We all create a narrative on what we think is important, and we see what we expect to see, but just because you are not looking at something doesn't mean it isn't there.  I don't see Trump as the friendlier face of the wealthy and powerful elite.  YMMV.

Look,

I ended the debate with a terrible feeling in my stomach. I feel bitter and angry that these are my choices. I"m bitter, extremely bitter about Clinton winning and yet I still find the prospect of Trump winning extremely frightening too.

Thank you, Thank you.  I'm here all week.
I'm always delighted when the obscure references are caught and I don't look like I'm just babbling.

I'm glad you are still up.  I had to work during the debate, my impressions have been tainted by the media commentary, and I'm still on page 11 of this thread.  I'd be very interested in what your overall impressions were of the debate were if you have time.  The other Briefer I'd like to hear from is @Weird Tolkienish Figure.

I don't have much interesting to say really. Trump came off as a maniac, uninformed, but not really any worse than the other debates. He landed a few good punches but missed a whole bunch of opportunities. Hillary made a bunch of good points. I'd call it a tie.

She will absolutely 100% win, not on her own merits, but just because she isn't Trump. The media will be excited because she's a woman President, like Obama was a black President.

And nothing will change.

I'm willing to bet that the state GOP would fund your effort.

With all due respect, you don't have a #$%&ing clue about this, @HonestJohn.

I contacted the GOP lawyers for support in going to Philly with videocameras to gather evidence of it, including the presumed assault and battery we woukd face, and the GOP wouldn't touch it.

That being said, I also know from watching polls, and having friends and family doing so in various places and different states, that many of the places where fraud is suspected, it's just that the Dems have a better ground game.  They're getting the minority voters in to the polls even in strongly Republican precincts.

Buy fraud *is* a problem to some extent.

During the election between Bush and Kerry the RNC/GOP actually had poll counters (I was one of them) counting and recording the number of voters vs. the number of votes tallied and reported.  We were given an "800" number to call in the event that we witnessed any voter fraud or voter intimidation. The RNC/GOP had placed people in the area from Washington to address any fraud or intimidation reported. We also stayed after the polls closed to witness the tally of the votes.  Now the 'system' is more streamlined to supposedly avoid any voter fraud and they came up with 'early voting' to supposedly eliminate voters having to stand in long lines.  Personally, I believe these new efforts to eliminate fraud have allowed the DEMS to rig the system.

You certainly do NOT have to respect my professional, logical, research or spiritual assessment skills.

You may disrespect me with great hostility and contempt and consider me a looney toons, off the wall kook, like some others hereon evidently think of me.

However, the FACT remains that the reports of Shrillery's raw, rage-a-holic, abject mean-spirited, arrogant, vengeful EVIL are in the many dozens, if not hundreds or more by co-workers, guards, etc working with and around her. One such report was from a close friend/relative of a FREEPER, well known to FR.

I know of NO such reports about Trump.

THAT'S a very SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE, to me. And, I think it has serious implications for any 'leadership' position either of them would be in.

There are reports that even Chelsa doesn't really like her Mom all that well.

That's not the kind of reports one hears from  Trump's kids.

[snip]

And nothing will change.

I disagree . . .

If Shrillery is installed, things will change MUCH more rapidly, dramatically with much more chaos, blood and destruction

Given the oligarchy being behind all the horrid excuses for 'leadership' at national and other levels, the end result may be in the same ballpark if Trump is installed. However, he does not appear to personally have anything remotely near Shrillery's utter ruthless, vengeful hate for our Nation, values and way of life.

I think the oligarchy would have to assassinate him to even begin to have the President's office and power become anything close to AS DESTRUCTIVE as it would be under Shrillery.

He's no saint. He's also, evidently, not a literal practicing, satan worshiping witch or warlock, like she is.

Maybe folks are not that familiar, close up, with raw, intense, unmitigated evil. I am. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE in consequences, results, the chaos and destruction left in its wake.

Trump is the reason, the only reason, that Hillary is the next President. It is that simple.
Not true.  The electorate has changed.  They are WAAAAY more liberal now than anytime in the past.  Kind of hard to overcome that.  There will NEVER be another conservative elected as president.

I don't believe that's true. I think Mr. "Son of a Mailman" from the GOP debates, I'm actually forgetting his name, if he ran as a conservative he could have won.

Kasich....Governor of Ohio......    They would have run him over, as he had no backbone.  As much as I like Cruz, the media would have characterized him as a madman.  It's hard for any repub to win, when 99% of the media is against you, and there is no way to get your message out.

As usual, I turned on GMA getting ready for work.  They gave Trump a full 30 min plus of trashing.  Not saying he doesn't deserve some of it, but naturally there was not ONE negative thing about Clinton.

I WILL NOT vote for Trump....but in a way, I'd love to see him win, just to stick a finger in the eye of the media.

Anyone who refuses to acknowledge that the character of the country has changed has their head planted somewhere.

In spite of what the pollyannas think twisted immigration and state-run public educational systems have cranked out several generations of socialists who haven't the foggiest idea of what this country is supposed to be about.

There is no going back, and IMO there will not be another conservative running for president in our lifetime.

@Once-Ler

Sorry I missed this last night.

My impressions:
  • Trump was extremely sedate, looking drugged.  I think he needed some middle ground, but the calm version is much better than the loony one.
  • In fact, the entire debate was a more sedate tone, even when they were just all talking over one another and refusing to stop.
  • Hillary came across as more knowledgeable, even though many of her claims were false.  The problem was, Trump rarely had hard facts with which he could respond to her and show she was lying.  Debate prep is necessary.
  • Still, Trump did occasionally have a conservative argument at hand (some debate prep stuck!).  He was able to get an occasional riposte in, for a zinger.  The responses rarely had hard facts, but they did land hard at times.
  • Trump blew it by not explaining that he'd question the election results, not that he'd just refuse to accept them.  Big difference. Everyone's trying to portray it as the latter, when it's really a "wait-and-see whether to challenge" -- something entirely different.
  • I think both had personal-best performances last night, not that anything really shone.
  • It's a toss-up who won.   The "I won't say I'll accept the results" answer is going to hog the news, so that's a negative for Trump.  Hillary seemed like she had a command of the facts, and that will help her.    On the rest of the debate, I think Trump won slightly because he didn't melt down and was able to get some big question marks on Hillary.
  • Throughout the debate, as with previous ones, I kept thinking "if only..."

My two cents on the debate last night.

I thought Trump had an ok debate, but he looked tired.  Hillary looked refreshed, but her head continues to 'bob', and her outbursts of laughter seem to be out of place at times.

Trump pointed out the corruption and lies of Clinton along with her lack of accomplishments for being in office 30 years.  Clinton pointed out Trump's lack of experience.  I found the debate to be a draw, except where the Constitution and appointing of justices was brought up.  As I stated earlier; Hillary was dead wrong on her assessment of what the purpose of the  Supreme Court is.  SCOTUS is not supposed to rule in favor of the 'will of the people'.  They are NOT supposed to make law but rather rule on the Constitutionality of the law.  Huge difference.

Trump didn't score any points by stating the election is rigged and that he would assess whether or not he would accept the outcome of the election.  Hillary's lies continued on.
