Poll: Clinton leads Trump by just 4 points despite lewd comments

10/16/16 12:14 AM EDT

Donald Trump has lost little support since the first presidential debate, despite days of damaging news stories about his treatment of women, according to a new poll.

Hillary Clinton leads Trump 47 percent to 43 percent among likely voters in a four-way race, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post national poll. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson trails with 5 percent and the Green Party’s Jill Stein is at 2 percent.

In the previous ABC/Post poll, taken before the Sept. 26 debate, Clinton led Trump 46 percent to 44 percent.

The continued narrowness of Clinton's lead over Trump is a useful index of just how unappealing a candidate she has been.

Nearly any other Democrat would by now be picking out curtains and paintings for the Oval Office.

Of course, if Trump were not the GOP nominee, the same would be true for the Republican standard bearer.

Yup.  Strangest election I've ever seen.   How can the process work to nominate two people who we all dislike and distrust, who we all know to be of manifest moral unfitness?    And at the same time prevent alternative voices from breaking through?    I know that most of us hate the mainstream media,  and have various reasons for doing so,  but here's mine - they kept Gary Johnson out of the debates.   Screw the mainstream media for perpetuating a two party system that gives us such choices,  and insists that if we don't pick one of the assigned moral cretins,  then we've just thrown our vote away.

It's both hilarious and yet a little sad....

observing Trump supporters claim, on one hand, that the polls either don't matter or are all 'rigged' in favor of Hillary....

even while they desperately post the one (or two) polls they can find where Trump is only behind Hillary "within the margin of error" of that poll.

By comparison, Romney lost by 3.9%.  Trump can't even match the guy he called a choker, even when paired against the devil's mother in law.
