First set of debate questions will be about lewd Trump tape; Clinton to answer first

The 2005 tape with Trump’s vulgar comments about women will come up in the first segment of the debate Sunday night, CNN first reported on Sunday.

Hillary Clinton will get the first question in the second presidential debate, which will be co-hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC News’ Martha Raddatz. Both candidates will be asked to address the subject, though, CNN said, quoting an ABC source. Clinton won the coin toss, which is why she’ll field the first question. Clinton’s campaign had determined Saturday that she would wait until the debate to make her first comments on the subject.

This debate is a town hall, with questions coming from forty uncommitted voters who were selected by Gallup and who will also be sitting on stage with Trump and Clinton. CNN reported that the questions were submitted to Raddatz and Cooper Sunday morning, and the two are meeting to go through the questions and the debate format. While the questions will be coming from the participants, Raddatz and Cooper will be asking follow-up questions and moderating the discussion between Clinton and Trump.

In an appearance on “Face the Nation,” Trump supporter and surrogate Rudy Giuliani weighed in on the tape and Trump’s reaction to its release Friday.

t’s obvious he’s apologized for it. He is very embarrassed about it,” he told host John Dickerson. “He’s a different man now than he was then, having gone through 14 months of a campaign that, having gone through it myself, convinces you of a lot of things that are important that you maybe you don’t realize before.”

If the Clinton campaign has any really, really smart writers on staff, she will open with something like:

You know, I understand, perhaps more than many, how a troubled personal life can affect those around you, and I also understand that there has to be some respect for the separation between one's private personal life and one's professional life.  - pause for appreciative laughter from audience - So, to paraphrase Ronald Reagan, I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's unfortunate personal life.

And then she goes on to address the issues, with a focus on issues that poll as being of particular importance to women, such as affordable child care for single working mothers.

The only thing Trump will have prepared for is withering personal attacks on Bill.  He won't be able to focus on any issue - not that he's ever had a real grasp on the issues in the first place - and will look like an increasingly unstable degenerate.

Clinton can, without once mentioning his statements about women, slice him and dice him, flence the carcass, and crack the bones for marrow, until the only thing left of Trump on the stage, metaphorically speaking, will be

Imagine when asked the first question trump says, "you know, i dont feel up to this after the week i've had.  I've asked Mike Pence to stand in for me.   Mike come on out.  Mike is here to debate our conservative ides against hillary's socialism."  Then shake hands with mike as he takes the stage, and leave the debate hall

That would be a real killer.  And brilliant. Never bring up a single reference to Trump's trashy statements.  You're right, too, that if Trump takes after Bill Clinton, he'll look like a cad and Hillary will look like a statesman.

CNN: First Debate Question Will Go to Hillary About Leaked Trump Tape

Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz will start off Sunday night’s presidential debate with a question to Hillary Clinton about a videotape of Donald Trump speaking coarsely about women.

From CNN:

The first set of questions at Sunday night’s presidential debate will be about Donald Trump’s vulgar comments on a newly published 2005 videotape, and the fallout from it.

And Hillary Clinton will get the first question.

Moderators Anderson Cooper of CNN and Martha Raddatz of ABC have adjusted their plan for the debate in light of the Trump tape, sources told CNNMoney.

While everything is subject to change until air time, an ABC source said — perhaps confirming the obvious — that Trump and Clinton will both be prompted to address the matter.

A coin toss by the Commission on Presidential Debates determined that Clinton will speak first.

Curious why debate questions are being released when it is a town hall and the audience is asking them?

I have half a dozen potential responses for trumpy.    For instance...... "yes i must admit that i am very attracted to women.  I am just infatuated with beautiful women.   This is one area where Hillary and I are alike.   It is well known that she is sexually drawn to women too...."

Oh yeah should be a real show.  They should rename the debate WWF Presidential.  And isn't it coincidence that both Trump and Bill Clinton have ties to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein?

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.
