Clinton Critics Subject Foundation to Scrutiny Over 2010 Haitian Relief

Hillary Clinton's charitable foundation is once again being hit over its 2010 Haitian relief efforts following the damage done to the country by Hurricane Matthew this week.

A group of Haitian-Americans are protesting the offices of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for not looking into the foundation's finances. The Committee to Mobilize Against Dictatorship in Haiti has demonstrated multiple times against the Clinton Foundation for its actions in Haiti.

Clinton's election opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump, drew attention to the problems with the foundation's efforts at a campaign stop in North Carolina on Tuesday.

"In one deal, Hillary Clinton set aside environmental and labor rules to help a South Korean company with a record of violating workers' rights set up what amounts to a sweat shop in Haiti," Trump said, according to theWashington Examiner.

"The facility has produced only a fraction of the jobs it promised and faces reports of wage theft. People are asking: where did all the money go?"

The billionaire was likely referring to Caracol Industrial Park, which Bill and Hillary Clinton were heavily involved in creating. The park cost $300 million, financed by U.S. taxpayers and Inter-American Development Bank, and was intended to make clothes to export to the United States, according to Politico.

"I believe that the momentum to attract people there in a massive way is past," said Jean-Max Bellerive, the former prime minister of Haiti, told The Washington Post in March, 2015, three years after the park opened.

"You can do interesting things with Caracol, but you have to reinvent the concept. Today, it has failed."
