He said this about the nations airports during the debate and my jaw dropped. Back in the 1970s and early 80s I use to fly a lot when I was in the Navy. Stationed in FL with my home in WA, I must have stopped at every major airport in between in those years, and they were not nice places. Slightly better than a Greyhound bus top, but with gauntlets of Hare Krishnas you had to make your way through, and not much to do once you are inside other than stop at a magazine stand. Today these same major airports are like shopping malls with highbrow shops and nice places to eat or grab a coffee or espresso. Wifi stations, bars, massage spas. On a recent business trip back from Tulsa, I was blown away by what they done to the Houston Airport. Glad my wife wasn't with because she would have spent a fortune at some of the lady's shops there.
Airports are like third world countries? Give me a break.
