MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte told President Barack Obama "you can go to hell" in a speech Tuesday that was his strongest tirade so far against the U.S. over its criticism of his deadly anti-drug campaign, adding that he may eventually decide to "break up with America."

Good luck with China and the Spratly Islands disputes, Phillipines.

It was nice while it lasted, but if you don't want to be our ally, you'll have the pleasure of resolving that without us at the table.

Hmm, maybe we can parlay that into helping resolve the dispute more favorably to our other allies?  Tell China that we have no concerning interests in how the Phillipine/China issue is resolved... and can be persuaded to support China's position in return for China agreeing to the borders set by our other allies who have unresolved Spratly Island border disputes.

And then parlay that into leverage against the Phillipine version of Trump.
