Bombshell report on Trump taxes sends GOP nominee reeling

It puts an exclamation point on what was already one of the worst weeks for any presidential candidate in recent memory.

It took less than a day for October to produce an "October surprise."

Donald Trump reported a nearly $1 billion loss on his 1995 tax returns and could therefore have avoided paying federal income taxes for almost two decades, the New York Times reported on Saturday, putting another unexpected exclamation point on what had already been one of the worst weeks for any presidential nominee in recent memory.

The Times, which hired tax experts to analyze the records, determined that “tax rules that are especially advantageous to wealthy filers would have allowed Mr. Trump to use his $916 million loss to cancel out an equivalent amount of taxable income over an 18-year period” -- more than $50 million a year.

This is a very simple issue.  And Trump is backed into a corner.

The Democrats slammed Romney when he revealed that he only paid 14% of his income in 2011.

Trump may have paid nothing.  The only way he can show voters he did is...........release his current tax returns.

Many times when it comes to Trump, it isn't these things that destroy his campaign

It's his response to them that does

Let's try this:

Republicans who, four years ago, blasted middle class voters for paying no taxes, are praising Trump for not paying taxes.

@sinkspur, which Republicans did that?  I'm drawing a blank.

I know our complex tax laws better than anyone who has ever run for president and am the only one who can fix them. #failing@nytimes

So I wonder how America would be great again if it was bankrupt and nobody paid taxes like he hasn't?

America files for bankruptcy?

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

No....not bankruptcy.  Insolvency.   And we're getting there FAST already under Obama.   Hillary and her cohorts (one of whom that shall not be named due to redundancy....lol) will only speed up the collapse.

He's probably referring to that 47% (now probably over 50%) of Americans that pay/paid no income taxes.  Retired lower-income folks on social security, the homeless, unemployed and people on welfare that don't pay any income taxes....yet they vote for their own self-interest each election (usually Democrats promising more freebies and higher taxes on those who DO pay).  That's why (well, one reason) the system is failing.  Too many people not involved or participating in paying for all of those freebies in any way.
