Trump Right on Trade Predators

Patrick J. Buchanan

Is America still a serious nation?

Consider. While U.S. elites were denouncing Donald Trump as unfit to serve for having compared Miss Universe 1996 to “Miss Piggy” of “The Muppets,” the World Trade Organization was validating the principal plank of his platform.

America’s allies are cheating and robbing her blind on trade.

Pat Buchanan on trade is akin to Dr. Seuss on brain surgery.
Roy Moore's "spiritual warfare" is driving past a junior high without stopping.

Show me the pictures of all those Chryslers, Fords, and Chevys crowding the streets of Tokyo.

"Automotive

A variety of nontariff barriers have traditionally impeded access to Japan’s automotive market. Overall
sales of U.S. made vehicles and automotive parts in Japan remain low, which is a serious concern.
The U.S. Government has expressed concern with the overall lack of access to Japan’s automotive market for U.S. automotive companies. Barriers include, but are not limited to, issues relating to standards and certification, the lack of sufficient opportunities for stakeholder input in the development of standards and regulations, barriers that hinder the development of distribution and service networks, and the lack of equivalent opportunities for U.S. models imported under the preferential handling procedure (PHP) certification program to benefit from temporary fiscal incentive programs. The U.S. Government urges Japan to address the full range of barriers in Japan’s automotive market."

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

Argument by analogy is invalid.  :nono:

Axis Sally pens another National Populist column.

And the euro-conservatives rouse themselves to raise their beers in honor of it.

That is a legitimate analogy.  Are you saying analogies are always invalid?  Because if you are, you are wrong.  They are a common means of illustrating a persons point.  That's it.  It's an illustration that makes the person's point clearer.   IOW, the poster is saying Pat Buchanan has no expertise on trade.  it was not meant to be the absolute full argument.  It was an opinion illustrated, and a clever one.

Actually, it was a stupid one.

Protectionism, new entitlements, and more borrowing and spending

Which of the two is the Republican candidate?
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.
