Trump adviser in Florida resigns, citing discomfort with campaign 'direction'

A Donald Trump aide in Florida resigned Friday over concerns she has with the direction of the campaign, according to Bloomberg.

“It is clear the campaign is now going in a direction I am no longer comfortable with and I have decided to move on,” Healy Baumgardner, a longtime GOP operative, told Bloomberg.

The resignation follows a series of late-night tweets from Trump's account directed at former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, whose story of insulting treatment by Trump was cited by Hillary Clinton in Monday's presidential debate.

When he was a top executive with the Miss Universe pageant, Trump called Machado “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping.” Machado was crowned Miss Venezuela in 1996.

Trump, with all his media savvy, is apparently unaware that each time he tweets about Machado he gives the media license to recount every foul thing he's done and said toward women.

That has an effect.

I think for most of Trump's life, he has benefited from name recognition.  He was often in the position of those who think "I don't care what you say about me in the papers, just spell my name right."

While there are many positions in life where any new helps, politics isn't one of them.  Bad news is bad news.

News comment on radio just now...."Donald Trump is doubling down on his rhetoric on the Machado issue".  Lol!  This is the most urgent "issue" America has today.  Sez a lot about how and WHY this nation is circling the bowl and about to be flushed down the drain, doesn't it.  I keep thinking .....'what if we DO deserve what's coming'....?

I vote for mentally deficient.

The man is obsessed with his brand and I don't think he'd deliberately tarnish it. Certainly not to sabotage his campaign or get Hillary elected. The Trump brand is his life.

He just.... seems to lack a real sense of what is and isn't appropriate. Something is missing there.

I posted yesterday that he was sent to military school at 13 for behavioral problems.  He has a BS in economics ... I'm still trying to figure out why he has such disdain for women and why he has the behavior and language skills of a 5th grade bully.
