Liberals At Work: California Just Legalized Child Prostitution

This is absolutely astounding. The liberal numbnuts who run the State of California just decriminalized child prostitution. There is no misinterpretation of what they’ve done here. It is no longer illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to engage in prostitution or to solicit money for sex. Like I said, kids in California are now able to legally work as prostitutes.

CBS Sacramento reports that space cadet Governor Jerry Brown signed SB1322 into law on Tuesday. Among other things, this bill exempts minors from the current California prostitution laws. In other words, a person under the age of 18 can no longer be arrested for violating prostitution laws that apply to adults.

Seeing that age of consent in CA is 18, it is still statutory rape to engage the services of a child prostitute in CA.  The change in the law merely treats child prostitutes as victims -- as, the rare self-prostituting physically well-endowed 16 or 17 year old trying pass as 18 or older aside, the usually are -- rather than criminals.

The_Reader_David it sure sounds exactly like you say they are not encouraging young girls to be prostitutes or allowing it just making them victims if they are caught prostituting themselves and brought into the criminal system. Any young girl that is doing this is surely a victim of circumstances.

If you move that 16 year old from criminal status to victim status, you have essentially made her activity legal FOR HER.  She is not prosecuted.  This is odd because a 16 year old knows full well what she is doing and that it is illegal.

You are assuming underage prostitutes are willingly engaging in illegal commerce.  This is usually not the case.  Most are being pimped out by human traffickers or pimps who "befriended" them when they hit town as runaways.
